From 2004 until now, Freddie Gibbs has been one hard worker. He’s released nine mixtapes, two EP’s and is working on his album. Back in June he released “Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away” with Statik Selektah.
But fuck all that…

Last week he gave us “Cold Day In Hell”.

Listen. When I hear growth and progression I become a fan. I liked his EP but this shit here? In my opinion it’s the best work he’s done thus far. “Gangsta Gibbs”, as he’s often referred to, is doing it right on this mixtape. I’m even going to go as far as to say this is basically a free album. It’s cohesive, it’s complete, it’s dope. I honestly don’t hear any filler tracks.

This is what I love the most about this mixtape:

It has something for the ladies.

The production is fire.

The hooks are dope.

He hasn’t lost his gritty edge though.

This is basically a free album. Download it. Play it in the car at ignorant levels. Do not wear a hoodie while doing so or you may get pulled over.
